Studies on Antibacterial and Antifungal Activities of Some Derivatives of Tributyltin (IV) of Salicylic Acid | Chapter 13 | New Visions in Science and Technology Vol. 2

Biocides made of organotin chemicals are routinely employed. In various molar ratios, Tributyltin (IV) of salicylic acid derivatives have been produced. The synthesised compounds were examined using elemental analysis and a variety of experimental techniques. On both gramme +ve (Staphylococcus aureus) and gramme -ve (Staphylococcus epidermidis) bacteria, the antibacterial capabilities of the produced derivatives were evaluated using their Minimum Inhibitory Concentration values (Escherichia coli). The antifungal effects of the produced compounds on the Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans fungi were assessed using their Minimum Inhibitory Concentration values. The compounds synthesised in this way were found to be stable at room temperature, according to the discussion. In terms of antibacterial and antifungal activity, these compounds outperformed the ligand.
