Studies on Superparamagnetic Behavior of CoFeO/rGO Nanocomposites at Different Temperatures | Chapter 2 | Challenges and Advances in Chemical Science Vol. 5

The source of magnetism is linked to electron spin and orbital motions, as well as how electrons interact with one another. Magnetic nanoparticles have gotten a lot of attention because of their unique features that set them apart from bulk materials. As a result, they can be employed to create novel materials and gadgets. Superparamagnetism is one of the explicit features of magnetic nanoparticles. Reduced graphene oxide (rGO), for example, is a two-dimensional (2D) nanosheet with unique features such as high mobility, chemical activity, good optical transparency, and a large active surface area. Because of these significant features, this material is an excellent candidate for nanocomposites including magnetic nanoparticles such as cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4). Nanosheets decorated with CoFe2O4 nanoparticles on rGO will have the required magnetic property, making the nanocomposites promising in a range of domains. The features, general methods of preparation, and some characteristics of CoFe2O4/rGO nanocomposites that can be used in a variety of applications are discussed in this chapter.
