In
Tripura, one of the thrust areas has been identified as rubber. After Kerala,
Tripura is the country's second-largest rubber producer. The rubber tree
matures in six to seven years, following which production begins naturally.
Rubber plantations go through two stages in their economic life cycle: immature
and mature. Rubber tree cultivation is a high-cost, long-term investment, with
the first phase consisting of all expenses and no return. The costs of rubber
plantations can be divided into two categories: material costs and labour
costs. Using the Goal Programming approach, an attempt was made to construct a
strategic planning in this study.
