Studies on Osteoarthritis, Gout and Antidepressant Effects of Platanus anatolius versus Platanus orientalis | Chapter 6 | Highlights on Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 3

 The Platanus genus is a member of the Platanaceae (Platanaceae) family, which includes tall, thick-scaled tree species. The eastern plane (Platanus orientalis), also known as the Ottoman plane, is an Anatolian endemic, whereas the western plane (Platanus occidentalis) is a North American endemic. Cytotoxic, cytostatic, astringent, antibacterial, and antiseptic effects are among the pharmacological properties of Platanus orientalis. The London plane (Platanus hispanica) is a cross between the two species. Traditional Chinese medicine has used the eastern plane for centuries. For therapeutic purposes, countries in the Far East and Iran. Active compounds found in plane leaf, such as flavonoids [1, 2], proanthocyanidin glycosides [3, 4], penta-aromatic triterpenoids [5, 6], tannin [7], phytol derivatives [8, 9], and caffeic acid [10], are bioactive components that play a role in the successful use of traditional therapy. Plane leaf's ability to treat osteoarthritis and gout is proportional to the bacterial population on it and the time of harvest.
