The body has approximately 500-1000 small salivary glands, the majority of which are found in the mouth cavity or oropharynx. They are tiny and embedded in the head and neck region's aero-digestive tract entrance. The number of minor salivary glands in the nasopharynx is quite low, and serious diseases related with these glands are uncommon. Tubarial glands, also known as tubarial salivary glands, are a pair of macroscopic salivary glands found in the nasopharynx. The glands' isolated position, the rarity of serious disorders implicated, and their previously unknown physiological relevance may have made them elusive. The small salivary glands and tubarial glands are briefly reviewed. It is a rapidly expanding topic in medicine, pathology, and characterisation of illnesses of the nasopharynx, particularly diseases of the salivary gland, have recently rekindled attention.
