The design and operation of thermal power plants (TPPs) in the Russian Federation are governed by a collection of regulatory and technical documents. During the initial design stage, it is critical to coordinate legal, environmental, and other TPP indicators with specialists from many profiles, as well as define a broad concept and structure for the station. In the Russian Federation's traditional professional requirements, there are no documents that regulate this procedure. A set of IDEFs and a methodology At the end of the twentieth and beginning of the twenty-first centuries, standards spanning all stages and features of design were developed and adopted as national standards in a number of nations, including particular goods in Russia. The IDEF methodology is written in a graphical language that can be used to communicate between professionals. This article discusses the implementation of the IDEF0 specification during the initial design stage of thermal power plants. Technical standards should be used in conjunction with IDEF standards. The design process will be sped up, and TPP operations will be more efficient.
