With the growing global population comes an increase in the number of older persons, which leads to an increase in edentulism. Furthermore, the elderly are susceptible to systemic and metabolic disorders, the most frequent of which is Diabetes Mellitus, as well as dietary deficiencies. Furthermore, nutritional deficit may arise as a result of the senior population's difficulty to chew food. due to tooth loss for a variety of reasons, resulting in full or partial edentulism The goal of this review is to see if there is a link between edentulism, nutrition, and diabetes, and if treating edentulism improves diabetic patients' nutritional status.
