Prevalence of Post–COVID Syndrome in a Cohort of Faculty of a Medical Institute and Their Family Members : A Cross–sectional, Descriptive Study | Chapter 10 | Novel Research Aspects in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 9

 This episode aims to determine the predominance of post–COVID syndrome in a cohort of skill working in Fazaia Ruth Pfau Medical College (FRPMC), Karachi, Pakistan, and their classification members. In the framework of SARS-CoV-2 infection, post-COVID syndrome should more widely recognized as a new dispassionate entity. Several research from throughout the experience have established the incident of post-COVID symptoms; still, the frequency, intensity, and sort of post-COVID symptoms in our country has taken less attention.This cross–sectional, explanatory single–center study was carried out in a medical institute, and dossier was collected by way of a questionnaire distributed to the follower of medical ability and their families. This stage included 84 patients, whohad endured from COVID, out of that 51 (60.7%) had post–COVID symptoms, accompanying fatigability 40 (48%), muscle pain 16 (19%), inability in the second place the normal tasks 12(14%), dry cough 11 (13%), breathlessness 10(12%), sleep disturbance and brain fog or trouble in concentration 11 (13%), and male hair loss 9 (11%) being the common discontents. The occurrence of the post-COVID syndrome had neither helpful or negative correlation accompanying the severity of the COVID contamination. The prevalence of post-COVID symptoms is solid in the COVID-infected public, although no identified risk determinant is found. More practical studies are necessary to path the sequel of this comparably new virus, that may still be mysterious, and a multidisciplinary team approach is well necessary to meet the needs of the ready post-COVID population.
