The Effectiveness of Hybrid Magnetic/ Electrical Impedance Based Cardiac Mapping | Chapter 1 | Novel Research Aspects in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 2

 This backward-looking study examines either SE catheters improve the success rate or decrease the risks distinguished to Biosense Thermocool catheters (Biosense Webster Inc., Irvine, California) not employing sensor-authorized technology applying NavX EnSite Precision algorithms. EnSite Precision technology (Abbott, Chicago, Illinois) is a novel mapping and traveling system aiding the visualization and manipulation of intracardiac catheters all the while arrhythmia ablation processes. The mapping plan employs electrical resistance and magnetic dossier in conjunction with Sensor Enabled (SE) catheters (Abbott, Chicago, Illinois) to supply more precise mapping and traveling. It is uncertain if this results in revised clinical outcomes.  Charts of 146 inmates who endured radiofrequency ablations for supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias between 2016 and 2019 at the Beirut Cardiac Institute were inspected and analyzed. SE catheters have the same accomplishment rates compared to standard catheters utilizing the EnSite Precision mapping scheme. However, SE catheters were associated with a lower rate of transient broadcast blocks. Further prospective studies endure be conducted regarding this matter.
