A Study on Safety and Efficacy of Glued Intraocular Lens Implantation in Eyes with Inadequate Capsular Support| Chapter 10 | Current Innovations in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 6

The purpose of the research search out analyse the postoperative visual consequences, complication rate of fibrin adhesive- assisted, suture-less posterior room (PC) intraocular lens (IOL) opinion technique in eyes with incompetent capsule support at a tertiary eye care clinic and to prevent suture accompanying complications following in position or time surgery and surgical induced astigmatism. This was a backward-looking, nonrandomized case series resolves 50 eyes which underwent PC-IOL impregnation of the ovum by fibrin glue-helped, suture-less technique. From 2017 to 2019, all cases who withstood IOL implants using the PC-IOL procedure accompanying fibrin glue help were included. In this study, Mean age of distribution was 42.94 age in glued IOL opinion. Out of 50 cases, 20 had females and 30 had males. The verdicts of this study demonstrated that there was significant dissimilarity in BCVA between preoperatively and postoperatively, p advantage for pre- operative to post-operative view in glued intraocular glass group was <0.0001 i.e. there was positive improvement in dream in glued intraocular group. BCVA ≥6/24 was 18 (48%) in Glued IOL subjects. It is decided that Glued IOL implantation is a possible option in rehabilitating patients accompanying aphakia without able capsular support. The technique is completely stitch-less in both acquiring the haptic and sealing the sclera flaps and conjunctiva.
