A Physicochemical Approach to Explore the Host Guest Inclusion Complex of β-Cyclodextrin with an Ionic Liquid ([C4mpy]Cl) in Aqueous Media | Chapter 1 | Progress in Chemical Science Research Vol. 4

In the current investigation, we attempted to create inclusion complexes between -Cyclodextrin and [C4mpy]Cl as well as to determine the stoichiometry of the ICs generated. The formation of inclusion complexes of -Cyclodextrin with an ionic liquid, namely N-butyl-4-methylpyridinium chloride ([C4mpy]Cl) in aqueous conditions, has been described on the basis of experimental data assessed from surface tension and conductance. The limiting apparent molar volume, viscosity B-coefficient, and limiting molar refraction have all been investigated in order to establish the suitable parameters for the development of inclusion complexes that are common in the examined solvent systems.
