"The purpose of this study is to assess the current situation in Thailand with regard to competence development in journalism and communication, as well as future demands with regard to competency development in journalism and communication." Thailand's goal is stated in the national plan as "Thailand becomes a developed country with security, prosperity, and sustainability in accordance with the sufficiency economic philosophy," which may be summed up as the national motto of "security, prosperity, and sustainability." Quantitative research with an e-questionnaire among 48 academics and qualitative research with a Focus Group Discussion among 10 stakeholders at various levels make up the mix methodologies. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics and narrative. Overall, the data revealed that journalists' and communicators' roles are intertwined. Overall, the findings revealed that the functions of journalists and communicators acquiring digital multimedia, digital multitasking, or mastering with digital media capacity such as working with information via modern digital technologies aligned with the current demands of this digital disruption era. As a result, journalism and communication education in the digital era must be agilely interwoven across all sectors of the digital technology ecology: humanism, digital technology, and media, with well-fitting educational pedagogies.
