Potato Farming Management in Sloping Upland | Chapter 9 | Current Topics in Agricultural Sciences Vol. 8

The goal of this project was to develop a conservation technology package for potato farming that would boost yields and profits while decreasing soil erosion. There are certain cultivation techniques to handle the soil erosion issue in potato cultivation, especially on sloping ground, which may also boost the potato output and reduce the loss of plant nutrients. The optimal pattern for potato cultivation may be seen by comparing farmer patterns, enhanced patterns, and integrated patterns. Each pattern provides a summary of various plant performance, insect and disease activity, potato production, and decrease of soil erosion as observed from soil structure and nutrient levels in soil and plants. In addition, the integrated pattern is a great option for dealing with the challenges of farming on slopes and reducing erosion.
