A Cost-effective 2-tier Security Paradigm to Safeguard Cloud Data with Faster Authentication: A Recent Study | Chapter 02 | Novel Perspectives of Engineering Research Vol. 9

Recent technological advancements have propelled cloud computing (CC) infrastructure to new heights, with increased research focusing on cost-effective storage management. Due to the potential distributed and pervasive storage facility, it is inefficient in fully preserving the integrity of user data attributes. As a result, the collaborative sharing of user data creates a situation in which various security flaws emerge. Consumer data is obtained in the cloud by cloud service providers who can be trusted or untrustworthy. Various security protocols have been observed in the past that attempted to solve this similar problem with cryptographic solutions, but they lack computational sustainability and robustness. As a result, the study introduces a two-tier framework that provides enhanced access control and storage security for Virtual Machines (VMs). The research essentially improves the model's performance by hastening the authentication process. The system's performance has been compared to industry-standard encryption standards. In terms of processing time, time to generate a secret key, and key size for encryption, the results show that the proposed solution outperforms existing security standards.
