Proposal of an Automated Schema to Generate a Complex Password by Employing the Genetic Algorithm | Chapter 3 | Science and Technology - Recent Updates and Future Prospects Vol. 8

Due to the occurred increasing in information sharing, internet popularization, E-commerce transactions, and data transferring, security and authenticity become an important and necessary subject. During recent years and yet now the terms of security, data integrity, authenticity are very concern, whereas in order to authenticate users of any service that is worked online, the authentication of password is used. In this paper an automated schema was proposed to generate a strong and complex password which is based on entering initial data such as text (meaningful and simple information or not), with the concept of encoding it, then employing the Genetic Algorithm by using its operations crossover and mutation to generated different data from the entered one. The generated password is non-guessable and can be used in many and different applications and internet services like social networks, secured system, distributed systems, and online services. The proposed password generator achieved diffusion, randomness, and confusions, which are very necessary, required and targeted in the resulted password, in addition to the notice that the length of the generated password differs from the length of initial data, and any simple changing and modification in the initial data produces more and clear modification in the generated password. The generated password cannot be remembered, so that the application of such password is as a master password, which is saved in a file after it was generated and it is used in user specific configuration data for access the server, also it can be distributed among the users who share information and data, it can also be used for barcode generation for commercial field. The proposed work was done using visual basic programing language.

Authentication of Lambs Feed under Dry and Hot Environment Based on Color Parameters of Fats from Fat-tailed and Thin-tailed Breeds’ Measured Using Visible Reflectance Spectroscopy | Chapter 03 | Research Aspects in Agriculture and Veterinary Science Vol. 6

Because pasture meat has a higher market value than meat produced in traditional systems, numerous authentication methods have been developed to distinguish it from meat produced in conventional systems. In temperate European settings and breeds, visual reflectance spectroscopy has proved to be successful. The goal of this study was to use reflectance spectroscopy to certify lamb meat from grassland-based systems in North Africa. This study studied the influence of the feeding system (FS) (P vs. S) and breed (Barbarine, BB; Queue Fine de l'Ouest, QFO; and Noire de Thibar, NT) on the weight and colour of perirenal, subcutaneous, and caudal fat in North African lambs. There were a total of 18 P and 18 S lambs utilised in this experiment. Each breed was represented by six P and six S lambs. The colour and reflectance spectra of different fat tissues were evaluated. The FS had a significant impact on the weights of all fat tissues and all colour parameters of perirenal and subcutaneous fat (P0.01), as well as the redness and yellowness of caudal fat (P0.01) (P0.05; P0.01). In all adipose tissues, S lambs showed more lightness and less redness and yellowness than P lambs. The breed had an effect on the weight, lightness, and redness of perirenal fat, as well as the weight and redness of subcutaneous fat, with a significant interaction with FS for subcutaneous fat data. At wavelengths between 450 and 510 nm (method 1, M1) or between 400 and 700 nm (method 2, M2), the reflectance spectra of perirenal, subcutaneous, and caudal fat was measured. Six P and six S lambs were used to symbolise each breed. Different fat tissues' colour and reflectance spectra were analysed. The FS had a significant effect on the weights of all fat tissues and all perirenal and subcutaneous fat colour parameters (P0.01), as well as the redness and yellowness of caudal fat (P0.01) (P0.05; P0.01). S lambs had more lightness and less redness and yellowness in all adipose tissues than P lambs. The weight, lightness, and redness of perirenal fat, as well as the weight and redness of subcutaneous fat, were all affected by the breed, with a significant interaction with the FS for subcutaneous fat data. Between 450 and 510 nm (method 1, M1) between 400 and 700 nm (method 2, M2). The reflectance spectra of perirenal, subcutaneous, and caudal fat were measured (method 2, M2).

A Cost-effective 2-tier Security Paradigm to Safeguard Cloud Data with Faster Authentication: A Recent Study | Chapter 02 | Novel Perspectives of Engineering Research Vol. 9

Recent technological advancements have propelled cloud computing (CC) infrastructure to new heights, with increased research focusing on cost-effective storage management. Due to the potential distributed and pervasive storage facility, it is inefficient in fully preserving the integrity of user data attributes. As a result, the collaborative sharing of user data creates a situation in which various security flaws emerge. Consumer data is obtained in the cloud by cloud service providers who can be trusted or untrustworthy. Various security protocols have been observed in the past that attempted to solve this similar problem with cryptographic solutions, but they lack computational sustainability and robustness. As a result, the study introduces a two-tier framework that provides enhanced access control and storage security for Virtual Machines (VMs). The research essentially improves the model's performance by hastening the authentication process. The system's performance has been compared to industry-standard encryption standards. In terms of processing time, time to generate a secret key, and key size for encryption, the results show that the proposed solution outperforms existing security standards.

Usability Analysis of Biometric Authentication Scheme for Smart Mobile Devices | Chapter 12 | Innovations in Science and Technology Vol. 6

The use of mobile devices to access data has increased in recent years, as has the use of mobile devices in applications such as web browsing, email, multimedia, entertainment applications, navigation, stock trading, electronic purchase, banking, and health care. As a result, data security has become more important, and securing data in mobile devices has become a challenge. Criminals have mastered the art of cracking passwords and fabricating biometric features, as well as virtually every type of user-authentication measure designed to prevent them from accessing device data. Mobile authentication solutions that are more robust are plainly required. To solve these issues with mobile devices, biometric systems based on graphical help, photos, and sounds can be developed to provide a more secure, inexpensive, and memorable authentication approach. Among the various authentication mechanisms, we believe that biometric authentication is the most secure. Biometrics are favoured for improving the security and dependability of mobile devices. The many elements of biometrics authentication techniques and mobile device security threats are discussed in this study.

Confidence Analysis of a Solo Sign-On Device for Distributed Computer Networks: A Modeling Approach | Chapter 9 | Recent Advances in Mathematical Research and Computer Science Vol. 5

SSO is a new authentication system that allows a legal user to be authenticated by several service providers in a distributed computer network with just one credential. By offering well-organized security reasons, an SSO technique recently offered and claimed security. Their method, however, is insecure since it compromises credential privacy and authentication soundness. We focus on two types of impersonation attacks: credential recovery attacks and impersonation attacks that don't require credentials. As a result, we provide a stronger authentication solution that overcomes these attacks and shortcomings by using efficient verifiable encryption of RSA signatures. We endorse the formal examination of the soundness of authentication as one open problem.

Secure and Authenticate Indexing of Medical Images Using Region of Non-Interest | Chapter 7 | Recent Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 6

An image database stores medical images created by several modalities. Medical photos should be transferred with the patient's information without modifying the image data, and these databases should be safely moved across the public network with control viability. Watermarking medical images is an effective approach for enhancing security. Validation of medical data is also important because it is used for further deductions and references. The investigation of medical picture watermarking strategies for safeguarding and authenticating medical data is the focus of the work. It also includes an estimate for the use of the water stamping process. The goal of this chapter is to go through Secured Indexing of Lung CT Images (SILI), which is a secure method of indexing lung CT images with patient data. The sender's logo information is used for authentication, and the secret key is used to insert the watermark into the host picture. The watermark is embedded in the lung CT image's Region of Noninterest (RONI). The lung tissue from a CT scan image is segmented to identify RONI.
