Secure and Authenticate Indexing of Medical Images Using Region of Non-Interest | Chapter 7 | Recent Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 6

An image database stores medical images created by several modalities. Medical photos should be transferred with the patient's information without modifying the image data, and these databases should be safely moved across the public network with control viability. Watermarking medical images is an effective approach for enhancing security. Validation of medical data is also important because it is used for further deductions and references. The investigation of medical picture watermarking strategies for safeguarding and authenticating medical data is the focus of the work. It also includes an estimate for the use of the water stamping process. The goal of this chapter is to go through Secured Indexing of Lung CT Images (SILI), which is a secure method of indexing lung CT images with patient data. The sender's logo information is used for authentication, and the secret key is used to insert the watermark into the host picture. The watermark is embedded in the lung CT image's Region of Noninterest (RONI). The lung tissue from a CT scan image is segmented to identify RONI.

Design of Spatio-temporal Data Archival for Big-data Satellite Imagery: Use Cases | Chapter 13 | Current Topics on Mathematics and Computer Science Vol. 2

The importance of production data systems in parallel and distributed spatial databases is emphasized in this research article. It proposes a Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) computer network design based on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and a local area network for performing complex workflows with spatiotemporal datasets such as Worldview-3, Sentinel-3, and Landsat-8 satellite imagery. The primary goal is to enable a workflow processing procedure that will automatically devise a sequential and ordered flow of machine data. a pipelined approach with robust data redundancy and a feature retrieval procedure Furthermore, the study suggests that a spatial design pattern such as model-view-controller (MVC) can be designed and implemented using geographic markup language (GML) and OGC-based webservices. Furthermore, a proprietary customized algorithm will be developed to perform geospatial analysis and bigdata archival.

Statistical Measures Performance for Preprocessing and Locate ROI Using Segmentation in Mammograms | Chapter 9 | Innovations in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 3

Breast cancer is a cancer that develops from breast tissue and it is considered one of the deadly diseases for women. X-ray mammography is the most successful method for the early phase detection of breast diseases. Micro-calcifications in mammogram have been targeted as earliest symptom of breast cancer and their detection is very important to improve its prediction. For micro calcifications, the interpretation of their presence is very tricky because they are very small, typically in the range of 0.1 mm- 1.0 mm and average is about 0.3 mm. Micro-calcification is a tiny bit, which may not be clearly visible because of low contrast in the mammogram image. To and locate the region of interest using segmentation technique. This paper presents statistical measures of different preprocessing to lighten the low contrast images and selecting filter for accurate detection of microcalicifications with proper segmentation technique.
