Prosthodontic Management of Completely Edentulous Patient with Unilateral Facial Paralysis: A case Report | Chapter 20 | Recent Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 13

The rehabilitation of severely ill patients has always been a difficult task for doctors. It's tough to care for a totally edentulous patient with unilateral facial paralysis. This implies a shift in standard operating methods. Facial paralysis can strike suddenly or develop progressively over several months. The example of a fully edentulous patient who suffered from facial paralysis on the left side for three years is described in this article. To improve function and aesthetics, a liquid-supported denture for the maxillary arch and a neutral zone approach for the mandibular arch were planned.
