The Arabic Language's Role in Determining Sunnah Corruption | Chapter 10 | Modern Perspectives in Economics, Business and Management Vol. 6

Sunnah refers to the words, actions, agreements, and characteristics of Rasulullah S.A.W. A true understanding of the Sunnah necessitates a thorough investigation of its meaning in both literal and contextual terms. Without referring to the explanation for the hadith's revelation, the literal meaning can be deduced from the Sunnah text. To prevent making mistakes in reading Sunnah texts and committing fraud against Rasulullah S.A.W., good Arabic language skills are required. Understanding the literal meaning of a Sunnah book from a practical standpoint necessitates knowledge of the Arabic language in three areas: word meaning, word meaning based on sentence position, and word meaning based on circumstance. The researcher focused on the importance of Arabic language in determining corrupted Sunnah understandings given in earlier scholars' publications, which were generated by flaws in Arabic language, whether intentional or not. The purpose of this research is to look at the impact of Arabic language in determining Sunnah corruption. The qualitative method was used in this research. Document analysis was used to gather data, with a concentration on books pertaining to Sunnah, Tauhid, and Fiqh. Meanwhile, a textual study was conducted using books from the Arabic language discipline connected to the knowledge of araf, Nau, and Balghah. The main reason of corrupted Sunnah understandings, according to this study, is errors in understanding Sunnah literature from an Arabic language perspective. In terms of effect, when it comes to reading Sunnah texts, a lack of knowledge of Arabic allows the meaning to be derived incorrectly from the exact meaning, and therefore forms the foundation for erroneous interpretations. To summarise, Arabic language skills are required to identify errors in Sunnah interpretation, and more research on Arabic language skills among deviant groups is needed.
