A Case Report on Primary Adenocarcinoma of Jejunum | Chapter 9 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 10

The malignancy of the small intestine is a fairly uncommon condition. The most common site for intestinal cancer is the duodenum. The stricture is the most common symptom of the lesions. In India, tuberculosis is the most common cause of small intestinal stricture. Small intestinal obstruction is caused by a small fraction of tumours. Endoscopy is relatively inaccessible to small intestinal strictures distal to the duodenum. This makes a definite preoperative diagnosis difficult. The signs of jejunal cancer are quite generic, and diagnosis requires a high index of suspicion. The goal of this case report is to highlight a case of primary adenocarcinoma of the jejunum that had a favourable prognosis following surgical resection.
