A Study on English Language Policy, Planning, and Practices (ELPPP): From the Perspective of Bangladesh | Chapter 8 | Research Highlights in Language, Literature and Education Vol. 7

 Language is a resources of communication that is to say used to transfer information, ideas, and impressions from one human to another person based upon conversation and combination of dispute into sentences through which crowd can develop their knowledge and hear about something (Gk. Stoic theorist Epictetus, 55-135 A.D). As the most effective tool of communication, the English style enjoys the position of World Language. During the reign of the British Empire in this place sub-continent English sound was used only as the official word. But in the present planet context, the English language has enhance a global vocabulary. So, the demand for using this dialect has increased among all the nations in the world like China, Japan, India, Bangladesh, and so forth. Though this language has great demand about the world but in Bangladesh, skilled is no clear-cut tactics regarding the status of the English expression. Since 1974, several communal education commissions were made in Bangladesh with changing shifts in procedures which in proper sequence had their impacts on our education system. This study attempts to resolve the policy doing the varied facets of English language education from the basic to the tertiary level – containing changes in curriculum design, materials, education, and assessment. It too aims to explore the various realizations of these policy shifts within an encompassing perception of a changeful global state, the complexity of the transition from procedure to planning and preparation to practice, and the changing perceptions of the English dialect.
