Emergency Generator Usage on Landing Craft Tank: A Brief Review | Chapter 1 | Techniques and Innovation in Engineering Research Vol. 1

An attack landing boat for waterfront vessel tanks is called a Landing Craft Tank (LCT). In general, emergency generators are not included in LCT 415 Gross Tonnage (GT) ships. Indonesia Classification Bureau or Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) regulations state that emergency generator packages are only necessary for ships with more than 500 GT. The LCT 415 GT, however, is fitted with an emergency generator package installation to provide a higher level of safety. When the ship's main generator is off, this generator acts as the compass's electric power source. The purpose of this study is to identify the electrical power requirements for the LCT 415 GT in order to provide the emergency generator package specifications and to give a general picture of the location of the generator on the main deck. The organisation of emergency generator packages is done to increase cargo, crew, and ship safety. In an emergency, LCT 415 GT ships needed 29,9408 kW of total power. The basic package of emergency generator sets is chosen based on complete emergency power in compliance with BKI rules, as well as the generator safety engine package set, when extreme weather conditions arise.
