Recent Biochemical Markers for Cardiovascular Diseases: Diagnostic and Prognostic Implications | Chapter 7 | Current Practice in Medical Science Vol. 11

The major cause of death and morbidity worldwide is cardiovascular disease. A better prognosis may result from early detection of a potential CVD risk and early care. Cardiac biomarkers are crucial in the early diagnosis within the "golden period" in order to carry out an early intervention and maybe undo cardiac damage. The potential biochemical markers linked to heart tissue, inflammation, and underlying metabolic processes have been identified in numerous studies and may help in the clinical evaluation of the population at risk or who is at vulnerability. This chapter gives a general overview of the cardiac biomarkers that are frequently utilised for CVD risk assessment as diagnostic and prognostic tools.
