The field of research known as fluid mechanics investigates the basic behaviour of fluids in motion or at rest. Whether the fluid is in motion or at rest, it is subject to various forces and environmental circumstances, and it responds to these situations in accordance with its physical characteristics. In several fields, including water resources engineering, hydraulic engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering, a basic understanding of fluid mechanics is necessary. The Fluid Mechanics Laboratory actively works to improve civil engineering students' grasp of experimental methodologies, as well as their ability to apply those concepts in real-world settings. The fluid mechanics lab has a variety of flow measurement setups for pipes and channels, including venturimeters, orificemeters, notches, orifices, and mouthpieces, where students may see how the fundamental principles of how the equipment works in action. A lab handbook is required to carry out the laboratory experiments. The current lab handbook gives students an overview of 13 various fluid mechanics laboratory experiments and their real-world applications. The purpose, methods, theory, and equipment needed to conduct experiments are all included in the lab manual, which aids students in creating lab reports. The current lab handbook supports the students not just during experimentation but also during the viva voce portion of the exam.
