The Improvement of Geometric Thinking Levels of Secondary School Students Using Geometry Learning Video based on Van Hiele Theory | Chapter 2 | Modern Perspectives in Language, Literature and Education Vol. 9

 Video Pembelajaran Geometri (Geometry Learning Video = VPG) was made as a result of this work. The movie is designed to help students in year 9 improve their Van Hiele geometrical thinking skills. VPG is an alternative help in Parepare, South Celebes, Indonesia, to overcome the constraints of information and communication technology (ICT) use. All themes in geometry for Indonesian Secondary School (Sekolah Menengah Pertama = SMP) are shown in VPG based on the Van Hiele learning paradigm in order to enable students who plan to continue their studies. The effectiveness of VPG was tested on 180 students, with 90 from level 0 (L0), 60 from level 1 (L1), and 30 from level 2 (L2) (L2). The findings of the adapted Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT) demonstrated a significant difference in mean scores before and after VPG use. It was also discovered that the majority of the students considerably improved their geometric reasoning skills.
