Hydrogenated Diamond like Carbon (HDLC) is Good Solid Support for Binding of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and Study of its Adsorption Properties | Chapter 1 | Challenging Issues on Environment and Earth Science Vol. 7

In this book chapter, I also suggested that we might design a metal particle sensing element supported by BSA and HDLC solid support to detect and remove inorganic As (III), Cu (II), and Pb (II) from water, similar to a golf shot system for fishing. BSA was immobilised on a Dopamine-immobilized HDLC (BD-HDLC) surface with high protein loading capacity, no conformal alteration, and adsorption. These BD-HDLC samples were immersed one by one in a 50ml 1x10-5 M metal ions resolution in Tris buffers at pH 6.5 for two hours at room temperature, under constant slow shaking conditions. A magnetic stirrer is a device that uses magnets to stir things up. The BD-HDLC film that had been treated with metal ions was rinsed with ultrapure water and dried with nitrogen. We discovered that the BD-HDLC surface has a high binding matter activity to the possible Cu2+, Pb2+, and As3+ binding sites. Furthermore, BD-HDLCCu2+, BD-HDLC-Pb2+, and BDHDLC-As3+ complexes can be used to investigate their unique interactions. As a result, we have a tendency to show that fantastic BD-HDLC can be utilised as a metal particle sensing element at more than fixed hydrogen ion concentrations up to 2X10-5 M.
