Debt rescheduling instances have also increased dramatically in recent years. From 2000 to 2019, the author uses an analytical qualitative and quantitative method to evaluate the new types of external debt in developing countries, and the following are the results: (1) External debt trends by country group, (2) PPG long-term debt external debt stocks, PNG long-term debt increased between 2000 and 2019. (3) Between 2000 and 2019, PNG's external debt stock as a percentage of GDP fell, while long and short-term debt increased slightly. ((4) In terms of the highest amount, East and South-East Asia and Oceania and Latin America and the Caribbean alternated first and second place in both 2018 and 2000. (5) The biggest amount of debt carried by SIDS between 2000 and 2019 was debt servicing on long-term external PPG. (6) Between 2000 and 2021, both high-income and low- and middle-income countries raised their redemption schedules, increasing the amount of redemption from roughly 2 to 2.32 trillion USD and 0.67 to 1.07 trillion USD, respectively. This shows that they have at least devised a strategy for resolving their external debt.
