Vegetation Monitoring through a Web-based Satellite Image Modification Process for Hydroelectric Reservoir & Watershed Area | Chapter 2 | Novel Perspectives of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences Vol. 7

 Terrestrial plants is a part of the supervisory function of upstream currents that are a prudent form against erosion and grant permission reduce the level of waste entering the water. It is a vegetation of the surface of the water that forms a "floating islets," thus obstructing the flow of water and damaging the instrument, such as hydropower turbines. Cirata hydroelectric energy-producing station has an 1,836 km2 of water catchment area, containing a reservoir field of 62 km2. The aim of this research search out provide a plants monitoring resolution more easily than manually. Monitoring of subsidiary images generally requires a table-based use to be treated by GIS Software (Geographic Information Systems). Optimization is done by modifying the process from producing publications with computer software to web to help the user and scheme needs. The frequency for listening of terrestrial plants is done rhythmically each year, while the water's surface plants is done rhythmically each week. The results of plants monitoring signify that there is a accruing deforestation of 3,608.04 hectares in the area for water draining from the monitoring ending of 2000-2021. As for the vegetation on the water's surface, it's a range of until 400 hectares. Data monitoring will be useful to expand control strategies in framework for the management of biodiversity and checking the effects of water hyacinth for hydroelectric energy-producing station.
