An Experimental Study on Fluoride Removal from Aqueous Solution by Using Thermally Treated Annona Squamosa with and without Presence of the Inert Gas as Adsorbent | Chapter 8 | Novel Aspects on Chemistry and Biochemistry Vol. 2

 The purpose concerning this study is to review the effectiveness of Pyrolyzed leaves of Custard Apple at 800oC (OPA) in air and in the appearance of lifeless gas (IGPA) as adsorbent fabrics for removing fluoride from liquid solutions. The study checks the impact of miscellaneous parameters, to a degree particle diameter, agitation speed, pH, contact period, adsorbent dosage, primary fluoride aggregation, and temperature on the adsorption of fluoride upon Annona squamosa. The results indicate that the chief fluoride removal effectiveness was achieved at a pH of 7, a contact ending of 30 notes of meeting, an agitation speed of 500 rpm, and an adsorbent portion of drug or other consumable of 1.5g per 50 mL of fluoride water. The OPA and IGPA achieved fluoride replacement efficiencies of 93% and 96%, individually. The adsorption isotherm forming studies revealed that the adsorption to OPA followed the Dubinin-Raudskevitch isotherm model, while IGPA attended the Langmuir isotherm model. The thermodynamic parameters granted that the reaction is endothermic. The movement study told that the Pseudo second order model best fit both OPA and IGPA. The SEM, FTIR, and XRD patterns of the adsorbent were resolved to gain a better understanding of the adsorption mechanism. Overall, the study illustrates the potential of OPA and IGPA as effective adsorbents for eliminating fluoride from aqueous answers.
