On the Oxidation Kinetics of Alumina- and Chromia-Forming Alloys: Growth of Scale with the Change of Reaction Area | Chapter 9 | Progress in Chemical Science Research Vol. 9

On the footing of Evans’ conceptual hypothesis, a new equation of the tumor of scale with the change of the backlash area  has existed tested and formulas got that allow assembling the kinetic curves of burning both for heat required to raise temperature-resistant alloys (FeCr, FeCrAl) and for likely, hypothetical objects of research. The study of the corrosion processes of alloys FeCr(La) and FeCrAl(La) in air at 1200 – 1400o shows the departure of the oxidation movement from parabolic. This is on account of the presence of spread barriers from lanthanum chromite LaCrO3 in the scale. The processes of extreme-temperature decay of FeCr(Y) and FeCr(Ce) alloys are also deliberate.
