A Study on Electrochemical Behaviour of Sodium Saccharin in an Aqueous Electrolyte Solution Using Cyclic Voltammetric Technique by a Nano-sensor | Chapter 8 | Current Topics on Chemistry and Biochemistry Vol. 2

It used a nano-sensor of the chemical compounds consumed by diabetic patients as a substitute for natural sugar to detect the electrochemical characteristics of sodium saccharin in different electrolytes. The cyclic voltammetric method was used to examine sodium saccharine in different electrolytes, with the working electrode (CNT/GCE) being a modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) incorporating carbon nanotubes (CNT). The redox current maxima of 0.01 mM sodium saccharine in 1 M Na2SO3 were observed to improve using the CNT electro-catalyst on the GCE surface. In Na2SO3, the effects of various sodium saccharine concentrations, pH, and scan rates were examined. The nanosensor also displayed high dependability and stability towards chemical compounds in the cyclic voltammetric cell. Other electrochemical characteristics such as potential peak separation (Epa-Epc100 mV), redox peak current ratio (Ipa/Ipc1), and cathodic-anodic reaction rate were measured. The diffusion coefficient was calculated at various scan rates.
