Introduction: Pigmentary skin problems are a major source of concern for patients, especially when they affect the face. It is a common clinical presentation to the dermatology outpatient department. Facial pigmentation can be complex, and the cause of various etiologies can be determined by a thorough medical history. It creates a lot of psychological, emotional, and mental suffering in people.
The goal of this study is to look into the various clinical forms and patterns of face pigmentation.
Materials and Procedures: A one-year study was conducted in a tertiary hospital's skin out-patient department. After receiving their agreement, all patients with facial pigmentation were enrolled in our study.
During this time, 102 instances were recorded, with melasma being the most frequent face pigmentation. There were more women than men, and only a few had a favourable family history.
Conclusions: Face pigmentation was more common in females and was detected in the 21-30 year age range. In the majority of instances, the aetiological determinants were sun exposure, family history, and cosmetics. Periorbital pigmentation was also linked to stress and refractive problems.Author(S) Details
