Dental Implant Prosthetic Rehabilitation in Patients with Angle Class III Malocclusion and Teeth Loss | Chapter 10 | Recent Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 11

The case of partially edentulous patients with Class III skeleton malocclusion, poor chewing performance, and a bad aesthetic appearance due to significant anteroposterior dental arch mismatch and loss of occlusal vertical dimension is discussed in these clinical reports. Orthognathic surgery was used for functional and aesthetic rehabilitation, followed by prostheses using dental implants. The patients were successfully recovered, both functionally and aesthetically, at the end of the treatment, employing a multidisciplinary approach that included orthognathic surgery and prosthetic treatment with dental implants. In the complicated treatment of individuals with skeletal form class III malocclusion and whole or partial tooth loss, dental implant prosthetic rehabilitation is the method of choice. In such circumstances, dental implantation provides a full occlusion, efficient masticatory function, and minimises the risk of recurrence.
