Determining the Treatment of Chronic Fascioliasis in Cattle with Gelmicidum and Fascocidum | Chapter 9 | Research Aspects in Agriculture and Veterinary Science Vol. 4

The recommended dose of the complex preparation of Gelmicidum 7.5 g for every 100 kg of body weight is once inwardly provided extensity of efficacy of 80 percent, intensity of efficacy of 83.8 percent. Scientific and field trials have shown a high intensity of Fasciola hepatica infection in cattle, the recommended dose of the complex preparation of Gelmicidum 7.5 g for every 100 kg of body weight is once inwardly provided extensity of efficacy of 80 In this scenario, it was perfectly reasonable to increase the drug's therapeutic dose by 13% and assign 8.5 g/100 kg of body weight, which produced a high extensity of efficacy (EE – 100%) and intensity of efficacy (IE – 100%). (IE - 100 percent ). The trials' findings confirmed previously obtained data on the efficacy of the Gelmicidum preparation in the optimal dose of 8.5 g/100 kg of b/w, which equates to 5.95 mg/kg of oxyclosanide and 17 mg/kg of albendazole, according to the active component. At a single oral treatment with feed, Fascocidum exhibited 95.6 percent IE at the prescribed dose of 10 mg/kg b/w. In the first group (Gelmicidum), the economic effect was 85.9 rubles per cow per day, while in the second group (Fascocidum), the effect was 46.5 rubles per cow per day. During the experience after treatment (3 months), the overall economic effect in the cow group was 154.6 thousand rubles, compared to the basic medicine in the first group (Gelmicidum), and 83.7 thousand rubles in the second group (Fascocidum). Under field conditions, Gelmicidum and Fascocidum did not create any negative effects because they had eaten treated feed satisfactorily.
