Anisotropy is a crystal feature that causes effects in a variety of physical properties that are direction dependent. It's also important in superconductors that operate at high temperatures. The maximum superconducting anisotropy is found in layered high temperature superconductors. The conventional approach is one of the methods for determining superconducting anisotropy; nevertheless, the anisotropy estimation procedure involves approximation errors. The scaling approach is a different means of measuring anisotropy that, in comparison, yields more accurate results. Both approaches are discussed and used to determine the superconducting anisotropy of a single crystal of FeSe0.5Te0.5, an iron-based superconductor.
