Emergency Management of Unexpected Life-Threatening Septic Shock in a Patient Undergoing Ureteroscopic Stone Removal: A Case Report | Chapter 15 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 15

We present a case of life-threatening septic shock in a patient who was receiving ureteroscopic stone removal in the operating room shortly after the procedure. On the operating table, the patient was symptomatically diagnosed and actively managed to stabilise promptly without wasting time, and investigations later revealed that it was septic shock caused by Gram negative bacilli E. coli. Only a few occurrences have been documented in the literature.
