Effective Treatment of Secondary Hypogonadism with Clomiphene Citrate in a Male Patient with Secondary Polycythemia and History of Transient Ischemic Attack: A Case Report | Chapter 19 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 10

We describe a hypogonadism patient who experienced polycythemia and transient ischemic episodes as a result of testosterone replacement therapy. We effectively treated the patient with Clomiphene, a selective oestrogen modulator that enhances GnRH secretion by the hypothalamus and, as a result, gonadotropin production by the anterior pituitary gland. Clomiphene was not linked to Polycythemia and the patient tolerated treatment well.
