Anacardium humile Saint Hilaire is a Cerradobiome native tropical shrub. It's a fruiting plant with biological, medical, and social significance. Knowing how genetic variability is distributed in natural populations allows conservation and sustainable use plans for the species and its environment to be developed. In recent years, there has been a surge in interest in genetic studies of wild populations that integrate evolutionary biology with ecology. The goal of this study is to determine how Anacardium humile, an important tropical shrub species native to the Cerrado region, is genetically organised in natural populations. Six microsatellite loci previously identified in Anacardium occidentale were used to examine the regional genetic organisation and genetic diversity of eight wild Anacardium humile populations based on examinations of 242 adult plants. According to the data, these groups have a lot of genetic diversity (expected heterozygozygozygosity He = 0.710). The endogamy coefficient was positive and significant for most groups, with a mean of 0.142 (p = 0.001). Despite being minor ((theta) = 0.075 and GST = 0.066), the genetic difference across groups was significant (p = 0.0001). The findings suggest that genetic conservation measures for A. humile populations should be implemented to ensure the species' survival.
