The goal of this research is to create modelling tools that will aid in the design of huge plants. The procedure can be used to create a new plant or to expand an existing one.
The
first requirement is the infrastructure that must be put in place to achieve
the company's goals. The model is designed to examine the infrastructure,
facilities planning, and auxiliary requirements, among other things, once the
objectives are defined and the key facilities are determined.
The
first example provided to demonstrate the technique's utility is the expansion
of a steel production from 2.5 million to 4 million tonnes per year.
The approach was subsequently used to a second steel
manufacturing facility with a different infrastructure in order to increase
production from 4.6 million tonnes per year to 10 million tonnes per year.
A third facility, with a different
infrastructure, is currently using the model. It concerns the expansion of a
treatment centre. This plant's amenities are much different from the preceding
two. This simply demonstrates the technique's utility by demonstrating that it
can be employed in a variety of production scenarios.
