Hybrid Voltage Control Model for Hybrid Renewable Energy System | Chapter 13 | Newest Updates in Physical Science Research Vol. 3

This paper proposed a hybrid control model-based voltage control of a Hybrid Energy System (HES) that involves solar and wind energy conversion systems. The proposed hybrid voltage control model combines the Artificial Bees Colony algorithm (ABC) with the Proportional Integral Controller (PIC) (PI). The proposed approach is unique in that it uses the intelligent foraging behaviour of a honey bee swarm to provide random reduction and adaptability to complex optimization problems. The ABC uses the Square Error to maximise the gain parameters under different operating conditions (SE). It takes into account the buck converter's real voltage output as well as the fixed point voltage. The PI controller is controlled by using the optimised gain parameters. The proposed hybrid voltage control model is used to control each individual energy conversion device. The proposed method is implemented in the MATLAB/simulink platform, and its output is evaluated by comparing it to other methods. The results of the comparison show that the proposed approach is superior.
