Centered on a case study conducted at the University of Bologna's Department of Education Studies, this chapter offers recommendations for developing and implementing academic lectures on Service Design Thinking for students in Higher Education Institutions (HEI).
It gives some pointers on how to teach this new definition.
It also draws attention to certain concerns that were posed during the delivery
of classroom lectures and that should be shared with the growing group of
professionals interested in this concept.
This contribution focuses primarily on practical considerations that should be
taken into account when planning lectures on this topic. As a result, the
chapter is divided into three sections:
- Demonstration of novel pedagogic approaches to establishing a theoretical structure of reference.
- Offering a sample of literature to be reviewed and used in the production of lectures.
- Introspection on lessons learned.
This work is a compilation of practical implications and feedback that arose
during the experience, and it is intended to stimulate a broad debate in order
to identify practises that can help to explain "how and what" to
teach Service Design Thinking in a HEI context.
