Dental students often asked me to suggest a clinically focused paediatric dentistry handbook that would be appropriate for class use and practise. The lack of such a handbook in Arab universities was the impetus for this project to fill the gap. This Handbook of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry covers a wide variety of illnesses, disease aspects, preventive and therapeutic oral health care, and special health care needs for infants and children into adolescence. The book introduces undergraduate and postgraduate students to new principles of paediatric dentistry. It may also be of interest to dental health educators and hygienists. The book is written in a straightforward, clinically appropriate, easy-to-read format. This book will direct the reader through operative and preventive procedures using a systematic approach with diagrams and radiographs. The book is divided into 24 chapters and three appendices, with each chapter's covering subtitles. The scope of paediatric dentistry is discussed first, followed by child growth and tooth production, oral pathology, and children with special needs. Testing, diagnosis, and recovery preparation are covered in detail, as well as behaviour modification in the dental clinic, sedation, local and general analgesia, fissure sealants, and moisture regulation. Dental caries and their prevention, fluoride in preventive dentistry, tooth preparation, pulp therapy methods, restorative materials and procedures, dental defects, and periodontal disease are all covered in detail. Often, wear on the teeth. Traumatic dental accidents, crown restorations, tooth discoloration, room maintainers, and interceptive orthodontics are all covered in this book. Dental products and secondary caries, medications in paediatric dentistry, and saliva testing are also covered in the appendices. The book includes 490 colour pictures, 40 radiographs, 35 illustrations, 13 plates, and 7 tables to help readers understand operative procedures, preventive care, and paediatric dentistry fundamentals.
