Rhodium-phosphite Catalysed Hydroformylation of Camphene and Other Terpenes | Chapter 3 | Current Perspectives on Chemical Sciences Vol. 7

With homogeneous Rh, Co, and Pt metal complexes, the hydroformylation of camphene and other terpenes has been studied. The catalyst system of Rh(CO)2(acac)/P(OPh)3 was found to be very active with almost complete selectivity for aldehyde products. The position of ligands, solvents, Rh:P ratio and conditions of reaction to camphene hydroformylation activity and selectivity have been evaluated. Camphene hydroformylation kinetics were investigated in the presence of the catalyst [Rh(CO)2(acac)]/P(OPh)3 in a temperature range of 363-383K.
