A topical problem in the industry is the exploitation of mature natural gas fields, given that most of the output, about 70%, comes from these reservoirs. There is a significant increase in the implementation of project management in the development of mature gas reserves due to the fact that a framework for achieving the goals in a sustainable way has already been established in the execution of the operational programs. It is known as the rehabilitation principle or integrated reservoir creation of project management in the gas industry, which has a significant effect on growing the recovery factor. By applying the idea of recovery as well as expansion opportunities to drive market performance outcomes, the paper aims to present emerging developments in the exploration of mature gas fields. Gas demand dynamism is an external factor that directly affects the field's operating model, so providing an integrated, effective and sustainable field management system would mitigate the possible adverse effects and be able to solve the energy market's challenges as well.
