Conservation of endangered breeds by careful implementation of planned mating programmes along with effective reproductive technologies would avoid further declines in the current population. The overall mean ejaculate volume (ml), mass movement (0-4 scale), individual motility (percent), sperm concentration (millions/ml), live sperm (percent), sperm head abnormalities (percent), acrosomal damage (percent), mid-piece abnormalities (percent), tail abnormalities (percent) and total sperm abnormalities in neat semen were 3,25 Punganur bulls viz. Among the bulls, major differences were observed in ejaculate length, mass movement, individual motility and live sperm.
