Seaweed is an important part of the food chain's aquatic ecosystems. Biostimulants are extracts or products extracted from naturally occurring substances, from the manufacture of aids and from plant growth. Biostimulants are considered to be free of environmental contaminants and decrease organic fertiliser use. Seaweeds extracts are known as unutilized occurring natural plant species across our ecosystems. The goal of the following review is to harmonise the studies carried out using extracts of seaweed. Some societies use it as plant growth regulators, food products, medicinal applications, and a few industrial applications, as reported in the study. The crop modification of the selected crops was carried out with the application of extracts of seaweed of a different kind. Seaweed extracts contain different compounds related to plant growth and development. However, considering their potential, the analysis finds that complete biostimulation of seaweed extracts must be explored. The important effect of seaweed extracts on the growth and development of plants and their mode of action must therefore be investigated. If fully used, the extracts of seaweed are renewable items. In this chapter, the regulatory effects on plant growth, production and quality improvement of sea weed extract were discussed.
