Bladder Paraganglioma: A Comprehensive Review on an Uncommon Bladder Tumour Mimicker | Chapter 4 | Current Progress in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 9

Bladder paragangliomas are infrequent and unpredictable tumours with diseased potential. They tend expected associated with hereditary disorders and manifest syndromes at some point. Secreting sympathetic tumours maybe triggered by changes in detrusor pressure and cause intrinsic effects. Diagnosis of bladder paragangliomas is questioning, given the variable giving symptoms and demands a high index of suspicion. Incorrect disease can result in anaesthetic complexities during medical procedure. Gold standard treatment involves relocation of the paraganglioma in its entirety, particularly for symptomatic, secreting sympathetic paragangliomas as these are at maximal risk of metastases. This chapter argues bladder paraganglioma in depth, containing its aetiology, presentation, disease and management and aims to supply a comprehensive review of this excellent condition.
