Water-Traps System in Rainwater Management and Implementation of Lock-Brick Systems Technology to Improve the Quality of Household Life | Chapter 07 | Novel Perspectives of Engineering Research Vol. 2

East Indonesia is regarded as underdeveloped, particularly in rural areas. There were numerous unsanitary houses with insufficient available water. Both of these factors contributed to a low standard of living. They designed a system-trap-rainwater engineering solution to offer water availability and lock-brick technology for a healthy housing, inspired by this issue. The study's goals include rainwater management for household and agricultural water availability, water building infrastructure that is successful and simple to deploy in the home, and the use of the lock-brick system as a rainwater management infrastructure construction material. The principle of a water-traps system in rainwater management is to keep rainwater in the yard by installing a system to trap rainwater, keep it, and regulate it to satisfy life's water needs. In this system, wells-trap-rainwater and drain-trap-rainfall-water are linked as a network inflow to wells-trap-rainwater. Water availability can be used to build a food-security-promoting agricultural-yard system. The lock-brick technology is intended to construct a healthy home for itself at a low cost. Dugouts were utilised as a fundamental material for making lock-brick for digging wells. The interlocking brick was assembled into a new healthy dwelling after building a sufficient amount of lock-brick to construct a house. It is possible to conclude that both system-trap rainwater engineering and lock-brick technology could improve people's quality of life.
