Determining the Optimum Utilisation of Continuous Miner for Improving Production in Underground Coal Mines | Chapter 9 | New Visions in Science and Technology Vol. 9

Continuous miners are used in conventional underground coal mining to recover coal reserves from underground coal seams. Shuttle cars are used in conjunction with continuous miners to convey the extracted coal from the face to a transfer location (feeder breaker). The coal is then usually thrown onto an underground conveyor system, which brings it to the surface and distributes it to clients. Cutting, loading, and tipping cycles will all be managed effectively, which could lead to increased productivity. Continuous miner technology will dramatically boost underground mining production, productivity, and safety.
