Case Report of Odontoma – Mixed Odontogenic Tumor | Chapter 13 | Recent Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 7

In 1869, Paul Broca invented the word "odontoma," which he defined as a tumour caused by total tooth tissue proliferation. Odontomas make up around 22% of all odontogenic tumours in the jaws. We discuss two cases in which children aged 9 to 12 years old presented to our OPD with a lost tooth as their primary complaint. A compound odontoma was discovered during clinical, radiographic, and histological exams, and it was surgically removed.

Early detection of odontomas by a benign mixed odontogenic tumour ensures a better prognosis..
