The incidence and existence of human immunodeficiency virus continues to increase globally with respect to women of reproductive age. HIV-infected women's treatment is not easy and must concentrate on including the current and potential wellbeing of these women, reducing the risk of maternal-infant infection and preserving the fetus and neonate's well-being. Mother to child transmission and postpartum treatment must be given great consideration. Vertical transmission can be affected by many maternal and obstetrical factors. Optimal medical and obstetrical treatment is the solution to this dilemma.
